General Introduction: Pearl is a Praanij gem. It is found in a distinct shell. Pearl cannot be found in every shell found in sea. It can be found at seashore and in bays since it is Praanij and produced by water shells. Pearl can be found in the bay of Manar in Shri Lanka and at the seashore of Kathiyawad in Gujarat. But the pearl so found is not of high quality. The pearl found in the bay of Persia (in a Persian bay) is thought to be the best due to its beauty (prettiness) and quality. The pearl found in the areas surrounding Baharain, Basara, Kausir and Jeddah, etc. is also considered to be of fine quality due to its lustre. It is not found in abundance.
Pearl is used to remove the evil effects of moon and it strengthens the mend force and induces good sleep. It also gives good memory, cures uterine disorder, heart trouble and eye diseases, TB, constipation and hysteria etc. Pearl is good for ladies, as it increases their beauty and facial luster. It increases sexual strength and makes conjugal life happy.
Use of the gem: Pearl should be worn in a silver ring or in a locket on little finger on a Monday morning after having bath, worshiping the ring or the locket with Dhoop, Deip, Flowers and Akshat with contemplation of the Chandra and Shiva Deities having been sat east facing and with the recitation of following Mantra. Weight can be 3-9 carats. The gem should be worn again the same way if it is broken, lost or stolen.
